Yinka Ayefele Biography
Olayinka Joel Ayefele was born on February 1, 1968, in Ipoti-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, to Chief Joshua Taiwo Ayefele’s family. His education began at Our Saviours Anglican Primary School in Ipoti, Ekiti. He then attended Ondo State College of Arts and Science in Ikare- Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.
He looked for a banking job after graduation but couldn’t find one. As a result, he joined the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria as a presenter. While honing his radio presenting skills, he was also creating jingles.

Before his accident, he was the director of his church choir and could play several musical instruments. He was in a car accident in December 1997 that injured his spinal cord. On the advice of friends who recognized his talent as a singer, he ventured into music in order to raise funds for treatment abroad.
As a result, in 1998, he released Bitter Experience. Following the release of Sweet Experience in 1999, he has gone on to release other albums. Merrymakers is the name of his band.

He survived the accident, but his spinal cord was severely damaged, confining him to a wheelchair.
His first album, Bitter Experience, released in 1998, catapulted him to fame, and was quickly followed by the release of his second album, Sweet Experience. Ayefele’s other albums include Something Else, Divine Intervention, Life After Death, which was released in honor of Gbenga Adeboye, a Nigerian radio presenter, musician, and comedian, and a slew of others.

On June 6, 2019, Yinka and his wife welcomed a set of triplets after 22 years of marrige. They are Richard, Eniola and Raymond. There were given birth to at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.
